In terms of employee termination, the company needs to consider not only the severance pay but also notice period and averaged monthly pay.
The severance pay is calculated on employee's service years in the company. In accordance with the Labor Standards Act, article 17 and Labor Pension Act, article 12, the terminated employee is entitled to get half a month salary for each of her service years in the company.
The so called monthly salary means her average monthly pay in past 6 months.
In addition, the company needs to give notice period. The ruled notice period are 10 days for service length less than 3 months, 20 days for less than 3 years and 1 years for longer than 3 years.
